drift school event structure questions

bee, here. now im going to be chairing my 1st event in feburary (the drift school event)and i was curious about somethings

can someone run in all 4 run groups? and if so what about the rule about work 1 group and run in another, i guess they would just need someone to cover their work group? because i think that alot of drivers who are going to attend these drift events would like to run in more then just one run group and i know that'll be a welcome thing because of the extra revenue.

now i know the event chair is supposed to haul the trailer but i dont own a truck. im currently asking if there are any local drifters who have a truck and wouldnt mind helping to pick it up or drop it off but i havent gotten any replies back just yet, and even then i MIGHT be able to borrow a friend's suv. worst case scenario, i cant find someone to grab the trailer is any member willing to help out?

this being a drift school event,i figure we should have instructors. im in the process of finding capable drivers of instructing newbies/novices. and a question i keep getting is will i be able to run for free? i didnt give them an answer because i dont have one. can i alot some time for the instructors to run the course by themselves if they want?

As out going President I will give you my input.
Normally we only allow entry in two run groups a day as you the driver must work the course opposite your run group just like all of the other drivers. Regarding substitution for working would be allowed but the substitute must be either a weekend member or annual member in SCCA to cover them under the insurance policy. The other thing is the substitute must be physically capable to do cone replacement. Lastly the substitute can not stop working at any point during the run group so they will not be able to help you if you break during your group. All workers must work from the beginning to end of their work assignment. Anybody on the board would you like to add to this?

Good luck on finding a truck and I think the event chair for the next day should be willing to return the trailer to Atwater so your tow would be one way Atwater to Fresno.

For our Autocross school we allowed the instructors to run for free with the understanding that the students are their priority vs running there own car. Keep this in mind as you want an average of 5-10 students per instructor.

Like I said, other in coming board members please voice our opinion as this fall under your season's decission making.

2 more items of concern:

price? will it cost more like an auto x school event? i think the added cost is because of things like a provided lunch, certificate of completion, and items like a magazine; i dont think this event will need those things so i would like/prefer this one be normal price, would anyone disagree to that?

and i dont plan to run in this event at all and i know that the event chair gets to run for free so i was wondering if i could "giveaway" my runs to someone else?

I you are just letting people practice at the school then sure the regular autocross price is fine, but if you are including lunch and/or instructors then charging a little more is normal.

If you want to pass on your entry a event chair there is only one requirement that the recipient is still responsible for either obtaining a weekend membership or an annual membership in SCCA.

I would have to agree with Josh on the maximum of two run groups per day per participant.

I feel that it's only fair that each competitor is responsible for working the opposite run group. In this case everybody's day is half work, half play. For people that want to run two run groups, they should work the equal amount (i.e. work two groups).
