    Default January 2017 Meeting Agenda

First meeting of the year will be on Wednesday the 18th, at MB2 Raceway at 7PM. Let me know if anything should be added to the agenda.

    1. Event 1 Discussion
    2. Event Chair recruiting
    3. Chief recruiting
    4. Reshuffling of classes (ex: condensing Street/Prepared/Modified classes, removing Indexed, putting the Ladies PAX class in one run group, etc.)
    5. PAX Championship
    6. Increasing entry fees for non-members (in response to increased weekend membership fees starting in March)

Also, don't forget there will also be karting after the meeting! This year, winners of each race will get a discount to our autocross events so make sure to show up with your A game

A thought on the class reshuffle. For the events that are early in or late in the season, EG the event on Jan 14th and the events in November, It would be nice to see the race tire classes scheduled together and in the afternoon. Forecasts for Jan 14th call for a low of 37. That is borderline unsafe to run race rubber. Any chance we can work on the scheduling and run groups to end up with all the race rubber classes in the afternoon for those events?

Fast street tires also do not work all that well in colder temperatures, plus the majority of our attendees run street tires (and by that measure, many of our core volunteers). Putting all of the race tire classes in the afternoon for those events would leave very few experienced volunteers to help in the afternoon unless they were willing to take on another work assignment. As an example of what could happen, in 2012 we had an event where there was a good amount of attendance in the morning but only 4 people total for the afternoon run groups - that left little to no one to help/clean up after the event was finished.

Note that you also don't HAVE to run slicks in those classes. You can run whatever tire you would like, meaning you can run a tire better suited to the conditions.
