Just got done reviewing everyone's registration forms for the autocross school. We have a LOT of driver's that have zero experience, good to see!

Some info pertaining to AUTOCROSS (Sunday) student's:

Make sure your car is cleaned out thoroughly before arriving. Leaving the floor mats at home is probably a good idea as well.

Ensure that your tires are in good condition and inflated to at least factory recommended values (check your door jamb, glove box or owner's manual). If you have a tire pressure gauge, bring it.

Ensure that you have no missing lugnuts and a secure battery hold-down in place.

A limited number of loaner helmets will be available, if you don't want to share, bring your own!

Plan to arrive at 8am. I'd like to get cars on course and moving by 9am. Each car will need to pass a technical inspection before being allowed to run.

We will be using the Fresno Fairgrounds Carnival Lot. The entry for this lot is on Kings Canyon. There will be signs near the road to point the way.

Be sure to get plenty of rest, a good breakfast , bring plenty of drinking water and some rain gear.

Lunch will be provided by the club around 12pm. It will be pizza and water.

Hi Students,

I would suggest 3 to 4lbs of additional air pressure over the factory pressures
in the front tires to start with. It will be easier to bleed air out than to add
air to the tires.

I'm coming down from a fair distance so was planning to change wheels there. Will there be a (semi)-secure pit area to leave wheels and jack?

Steve, I've left my wheels, tires and trailer there before. The site is locked, lit and patrolled at night. I wouldn't worry about leaving them there overnight.

Hope that helps

Yes, there is a fenced area and access will be controlled into the event.

Looks like we will have a compressor at the site in case anyone does not get air in their tire before the event.
Also I think Brandon is getting the firehose for water cooling the tire as needed.
Thanks Brandon for breaking up the list and letting us instructors know who we will be working with.
Look forward to a great time.

Huge thanks to Thad Robeck and Chris Yang for staying after the drift events to help me setup for tomorrow. The courses are about 80% setup, so expect things to be off to a bit of a rocky start tomorrow, nothing we're not familiar with though ;)

Wanted to stay but had to work on the car and glad I did. Needless to say that the Z06 wont be on slicks tomorrow:mad:. My rear race wheels no longer clear the leaf spring since the car is lower now. Time for coilovers I guess:D

Had a great time as a first time attendee. Enjoyed learning the fundamentals and the full course towards the end of the day. Thanks to Josh/Charlie for being great instructors and helping out with my tire pressure.

Great thanks to all the volunteers and instructors.

I had a blast, didn't hurt the car, and learned a bunch. Too bad I spun on that last round...

I also left my battery box and tire gauge next to the fence in the grid area. Anybody grab that for me?

The Cobra will be back...with DOT slicks next time (rather than 5 year old rubber).

Call me if you found the box 559.352.6145

Thanks again,
