I am in need of instructors for the driving school to be held on 2/27 & 2/28.
If you have instructed before or feel that you have skills to share, let me know.

Put me down for 2/28 - the autocross school. I can help with the drift school, but not instruct. I can't drift! My psyche won't allow it.

im already talking to a few people about instructing at the drift school event should have all the confirmations very soon. think mine will be all 1st time instructors but they have know how to get cars to go sideways, is there anything i could tell them to make them better instructors or something along those lines?

Ahh F40 whoopie.:p Sorry but the F40 driver would tear me up on the straight, but under breaking and cornering I would eat him like a snack. However I think this was his first track day. Ok, I was envying his car:eek: as it was not being driven to its full potential:mad:. Let me see if I can get another youtube video up of my in car behind him.

I would have been terrified to drive that car at anything above 5/10s.

Oh, I'd drive it.
But I dunno about balls out.
Which is why if I had the money i'd buy a mere F430.

i'd drive it to the limit (on 2 conditions: a roll cage and a hans device). i wonder if i can make the exhaust system even louder on that car.....

Back on point...
I am available for learnin/instructin at either event.
Now off topic...
Itsuki, the F40 is nuthin' to the pix in your signature. That is the one bought with mythical 'lotto funds' the 2000gt has no equal. Except a Maserati Birdcage, or maybe a ...

Dan's correct, iirc, our instructors have been SCCA members in the past.

yes i been a member for sometime now and attend the meeting as well not all but i do
... since i have done events like this and run them still i thought i would be of good help since the scca drift thing is on its "baby steps" i thought i can add strong support as i post and inform others on other drift forums and running a drift shop.... helps me push this a bit more than the average person.
i want this to work out like others and seen the FAIL past drift events :(... there is others that have the experience but more is better.....look into the "parking lot" drift events in LA area(socaldrift.com) and you'll see why i wanna instruct/help:D

Eric G i agree its good to have instructors that been SCCA members( i was a SCCA memeber and help when josh was prez do the drift event in Fresno last time and did the drift demo on the drift school day) in fact i drove from Modesto the day before and used a customers "low hp" drift car and "test" out the layout to make sure it was good for the drift school day the last time ;)(low hp layout so i used a low hp car like in LA events) its good to have a helping hand that builds and drifts cars over the last 7 years. Its nice to have answers to newbie drivers that day with ANY one having experience.
Also i was unsure if it was FULL meaning no more help needed. that why i posted i wanted in! it was fun last time i helped/instructed:D

I mainly asked because I don't know who you are and don't know if we've every met. Although I have seen your posts I can't attach a face (or car) to them.
I was also thinking that purely for insurance purposes (which SCCA is very concerned with) it MAY be required to be a member.
However, neither of those two conditions have anything to do with your abilities and value as an instructor. I know I would be worthless at it and welcome experienced instruction.

+1 to what Dan said (sorry, I'll step off your coattails), no slight to anyones instructional value and
+1000 to the "...I would be worthless..." phrase. Classic.
I will however vouch for Dan's incredible pace on HWY 5 coming back from Buttonwillow, even with a towbar full of tires!

Now we're doing a-hundred-and-twenty
As fast as I can go
The Rambler pulled along side of me
As if I were going slow
The fella rolled down his window
And he yelled for me to hear
Hey buddy how can I get this car

aaaahhhhhh crap....................i got 3 confirmed instructors for the drift event (not including SSAuto D) and im sure they are not scca members. i didnt think that was an issue but reading this thread now if thats the case and they need to be members; 1) i dont know if they want to become members just to instruct 2) if they dont become members and we still need instructors i dont think we'll have enough qualified/experienced instructors for the drift school event (i mean i didnt even include myself because i still gotta work on my consistency), if thats the case then i think we have a problem. IF WE WOULD CONTINUE THIS DISCUSSION IN THE DRIFT SCHOOL EVENT STRUCTURE THREAD OR HERE THATS FINE

Thread material... At other Drift practice/school events, instruction was more of a volunteer and optional activity. As long as one wasn't a complete 'caveman' out on the practice courses (short runs) we all just self-regulated. Having 2-3 members available for drift discussions and strategies may be enough to get this going. If you are really wanting to figure this out before the event, I highly recommend (not officially sponsored info now) heading up to the mtns., finding an EMPTY parking lot with little to moderate snow, and let'er rip. (this message will self destruct in 5 sec...)
Also, we may avoid the debacle of last fall's truncated drift day with a limit on entries, which many drift groups do, for higher instructor/student ratios and for greater amount of track time.
I'll throw my hat in the ring, for either day or both. I'd be happy to pair up with another member too, any takers?

The lack of frozen lakes in this state is disappointing.
/The lack of the weather that causes this phenomenon is not though.

True dat. Additionally, the lack of rusty wheel arches and flapping door skins that comes with said weather is very welcome indeed.
