Pre-Registration for the '09 Autocross School / Test & Tune is now OPEN! (http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/59C05AD0-C1AE-C26D-48060843673DEF60)

Of note, this event is available via PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY.

Autocross is a timed contest of driving skill. Speeds and hazards to spectators, participants, and property do
not exceed those found in normal, legal highway driving. We think it is much more fun than street driving and
you can't get a speeding ticket!

Best of all, you can enter in your everyday street car!

This school will introduce you to Solo driving, teach you some of valuable driving skills and give you a
chance to try them out in a controlled environment. There will be classroom style and in car instruction from
experienced drivers and coaches.

This year, I am putting on two separate instruction groups: Basic and Advanced. Basic will be similar to the classes held in the past. Advanced is targeted towards the experienced autocrosser looking to work on weak points or find that last 1%.

PRICING
Test & Tune Only - SCCA Member - $35
Test & Tune Only - Non SCCA Member $50

School + Test & Tune - SCCA Member $75
School + Test & Tune - Non SCCA Member $90

Registration will fill FAST and is limited to 40 drivers.

There will be 4 seperate 90 minute sessions. You will work 2 of them and run 2 of them. Track time is plentiful as you will be able to run as many times as wanted. There will simply be a line at the start, get in line and go whenever you like!

All vehicles must pass safety inspection on the following points prior to running: seat belts, throttle return
action, secure battery, no oil or antifreeze leaks, adequate brake pedal, tire condition, wheel bearings. All
loose items, snap-on hubcaps, detachable fender skirts and trim rings must be removed. Real shoes are
required (no sandals or flip-flops). Helmets are required (Snell 95 or newer) with some loaners available.

Great stuff today! The Fairgrounds offers a lot of challenges that I didn't see before. Surface changes, tight courses that will require a lot of patience, with a few slight elevation changes for kicks :).

Have we talked about the topic of a night autocross yet? Example (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGNITkQyeXA&feature=channel_page)

About 10 years ago, I ran a night autocross in Las Vegas on my way to Kansas. The event had it's own unique challenges to say the least. I
almost feel that course workers would have the most trouble trying to
see where the boxes are to replace cones. Our local group did do a
couple of night events during the summer one year at the fairgrounds.
