Part 1 -- get into it about 52 seconds and you'll see why I started the clip where I did. At five minutes in I start my fastest lap of the day -- a 1:46.

Part 2 -- here you'll see my continuing pursuit and at the beginning where we come up behind Cliff.

Enjoy -- because I sure did. :D

What a neat camera. Best picture quality I've ever seen.

Or is that Brat-car, Batman? The only thing more fun than watching that was driving. Good performance for only your 4th session at Laguna Seca - and sleep deprived. Did you ever try single apexing turn two like the Porsche did? (I think).

Who was your passenger?

Well, here is a video of my fastest lap along with the following lap.
Youtube Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7e30h1kG6Q)
Video quality is not the greatest but my 2GB won't allow for the full 25 min plus waiting on grid.
I have way more video but I could not wait to get this posted.

Yes, I'm very happy with it and the sound quality. I only edited the video for length. It only took up 1 GB of space for roughly 10 minutes of video so my 16 GB card will easily get through a day at the track.

I tried several methods and didn't settle on anything. In the first run group I gave myself a real thrill with too much rear brake bias going into turn two. I got real close to coming around when it started to lock up. After that I never got back up to where I fully trusted the brakes in two. I had backed it off a turn and a half by the fourth group and it was much better. I was also adjusting rebound and tire pressures so I had too much going on to be very consistent.

My passenger was a friend's wife who rode with me in RG 2 & 4. He rode in RG 1 & 3. We had fun.

Looking really good out there Josh!

I have to say though, that the drift shuffle style steering is a habit you might want to try to break. Its not always your friend when things get complicated.

Good job to both of you. That 1:48 was pretty impressive, Josh.

It seems that all these track days are during the week. Are there ever any times when one can run on these tracks(LS, Sears)during the weekend.

I'm really interested in running at these two "major" tracks but have to work during the week.

Typically the catch is the cost.

Consequently the frequency is falling off. People would rather "call in sick" than pay the extra bucks. Also, many weekends are taken up by private/special interest groups. The hint is: call in sick.

Oh man, I am so sorry I missed this. Based on these videos, it looks like a great day! Josh, who was in the right seat? Cliff? No wonder he posted what he did.

I'm glad to see more & more interest by this group in track days. For the longest time, I was all alone, except for Gary Mac once in awhile. Then Cliff got into it, and he had a lot of influence in getting others started. We're getting a real "track junkie club" going now.

I was at Infineon yesterday - Monday. The coldest & slowest day I've ever spent on a track. The first session was at 8:00, my first session at 9:00. The track was still extremely slick at 9:00. Speculation is there was ice at the top of turn two. My first time out there was a waving yellow; the driver in front of me lost it. If it wasn't for that yellow, I may have lost it, too. The good news is everybody was very careful & there was no bent sheet metal. (Except for the race group, but that's a different story. Hell - here's the story: four cars in the race, three were out before the 1st lap.)

Dan,
Just out of curiousity, what kind if speed did you see on the main straight?

I would get a little busy checking out the second corner to look at the speedo but I think around 125 MPH. I was a little surprised as I was hitting 5-10 MPH faster at Buttonwillow but then its straight is actually straight, flat, and a little longer.

Going flat out over a blind hill and down hill into a braking zone for a slow corner will definitely have priority for your attention.

The way this current administration is going after our money. It won't be long before only government workers will be able to do this.

If I'd have only known the road to wealth was to work for the government.:(

Here are all of my lap times in case any of you were interested. Being so fast compared to the other cars in my group only allowed for one clear lap without traffic.
