We are getting down to the wire to be able to get an Event Chair.
The insurance application needs to be to the SCCA National Office by Friday April24! TWO WEEKS MIN. BEFORE AN EVENT.
I hate to have to say this but NO CHAIR = NO EVENT!!!
COME ON!!!
If you want to be the event chair then contact Brandon Griggs the VP because he is the person responsible for the insurance paperwork.
You can even co-chair the event one for Saturday and one for Sunday.
I thought we all wanted to race.
AGAIN NO CHAIR = NO RACE!!!
PLEASE VOLUNTEER!!!

I'm willing to share chairmenship with someone. But I have no way of getting the trailer to and from the event. Otherwise I'm willing to do the course.

Here is a direct quote from the By Laws.
"Event Chair receives free entry and a maximum number of three (3) additional free entries for the Event Chair to distribute to whom they choose. Additional free entries beyond the three will need to be approved by a current board member. Applicable membership with SCCA must be paid by the recipient of the free entry to be eligible to use the free event entry to compete."
So I would assume Steve would be willing to give one of his extra free entries to anyone willing to tow the trailer.

Out of curiosity, What are the eligibility requirements for the Event Chairperson and also what are the responsibilities? I'm new and don't know nearly all the rules, but figured I'd ask.

Basic requirements are:
Annual membership in SCCA.
Helped during setup and tear down at events.
Co-Chair an event.
Basically experience on some level on how we run an event.
There is an event chair binder stored in the trailer which is suppose to be read by the chair and the binder helps with running an event.
This year if you wanted to chair and event you should get together with an experienced member and co-chair one of the 2-day events.
What an event Chair is responsible for in short is verifying all tasks coming up to the event are taken care of and setup, running and tear down of the event. A more detailed description is in our By-Laws. I can email them to you because the file attachment limit on here is to small for them.

I'd be willing to help out and co-chair, but I've never chaired an event and this is our first? time on this site, I wouldn't want that kinda responsibility.

I also thank you. I had fun. This was only my second time driving a RWD car. The first time was a 1983 Celica GTS in the 24 hours of lemons race with cut springs and poor dampers (probably Monroes with 100k miles). This was my first autocross in a RWD platform. Thanks Don for letting me drive the miata. I felt a 38.7 was a respectable time for essentially an ST2 car though I do feel I left quite a bit of time on the table and still have a lot to learn. I believe Steve drove a 37.4 or something. I'll be picking his brain for advice.
