April background info:
Event went from 9:30am-3:00pm.
18 entries.
8 runs per person.
2 laps each run with one a warm up and second timed.
My fastest lap was a 40 second something.
Small site.
Paddock is in the far south back corner. Very Small.
Site is slick from blowing sand for morning run groups. Afternoon racing line is pretty clean.
One un-even bump in course where I got air:eek:, but no one was as bad as me.
Course must be stopped if you arrive late or want to leave early.
Hope to see some of my SM buddies out there.:D

For sure it's this Sunday? Last time I think they held it on a Saturday.
Anyway if it is on Sunday I'll be there. I have to heat cycle my new RE-11's a couple of times before the Divisional next month and there are so few events before then.
How much is entry?

You pay when you get there.
Just a reminder you will need to be there on time to early because they close the gate.
The site/course is not a legal SCCA site but still there simple design is fun.
As 50Corbra said $30 and that is for the day not for a set number of runs either.
Hope you guys have fun.

195s RE11s Steve?
This best describes what they're like
On my test course:cool: I was able to drive the car so much more quickly. Everywhere. To the point of it being a little scary in some spots. There is so much more stick that a couple of times I went around corners that I know if I had been on the O1Rs I would have left the road. They feel stickier than the old BFG R-1's from the 90's
I can't say yet if the 195s are the right choice for competition but they made the car fun to drive again over 205s and that's all I want:)

The car is down for track day prep.:o
Yeah I trying to figure how to drop ping pong balls into the exhaust so I am actually shooting something on those back fires. HAHA :D I will post one of my videos on youtube so you can see what Steve is asking about. Hey Steve imagine if I took the car to the San Diego Stadium event. Do you think I would exceed the dBa:eek:

Great news! I'm intrigued. Kind of similar to Andy Hollis's decision to go with the narrower 16" Azenis, back when they were popular. We shall see if it works. BTW, what is the tread width on those 195s?
I'm also wondering how a 7.5" rim would do to the 205s, once Emilo comes out with his new 6UL-R

I'll be sure not to be too near to the backend of your 240 at BW :D. Might have holes on my Miata by the end of the day! Weather might be behaving itself for BW, crossing my fingers.

Well hear is something else intriquing from Mr. Hollis. It seems it doesn't matter if you use a 7" or 7.5" rim with the 205 'Stones'. They work well with either one.

Wow!
Probably not the same as with the huge 225 from Toyos, and now Hankooks.

will we be getting another weekend membership for this event?
JFine
05-29-2009, 09:36 PM
This is a PCA event and not sanctioned by SCCA so no weekend membership needed.
Expect a totally different style to the way the event is run. Just have fun!

Geez, racing is cruel! From total elation to utter disappointment. We found a
water leak that will prevent us from running the car this weekend. What little we were able to run we know that we have a car that is way beyond our
driving capability. In other words this car car is flat WICKED!!! We'll keep you
posted.

Kudos to Pete for doing it again even when he coasted over the finish line hump to save the front spoiler. The Fresno chapter was well represented with the rest of us hot on his heels. Miatas and Minis held their own against the Mustangs and Porsches.............very satisfying!
