Yea that story is a few years old now. I've wanted to write the program to do this for a while but haven't. With an electric steering rack, computer controlled ABS brake pump, throttle by wire and yaw,pitch,roll sensor in the roof, it wouldn't be too hard to make it work.

Apparently VW is using these cars for development work now, I want one!

We could use a car like that at the autocross to set the base time for the course.:D
I happen to come across it on you tube today. I knew about the Dessert Race and I was seeing if there were any other videos on computer driven cars.
