I only have one request as far as what track we would select to drive. I would like Sears Point the Road Course(not NASCAR) assuming they have it available. Ok maybe they call it Infineon but still that is the course I would prefer.
Tony, did you have in mind a group race against each other or just show up and race whatever whenever while we are there?
Did you get a list of the cars you can select from or is it endless like GT5?

If your going to have a group race I think, so as not to favor the track day people over the autocrossers, you should pick a track that no one has ever had a chance to drive.

Like for instance, the Brands Hatch GP course or see if you can keep the car under you coming down Mt. Panorama at Bathurst!

So it looks like it will be just the three of us because Steve is just a poser.
By the way I wanted to do Infineon as I have never driven there more than 5 laps and those were follow the leader in A4's, so Infineon is still new to me just like everybody else.

Tony,
Great idea for tonights' event. Seems like we had a better turnout than some of our autox'es.
Can't wait to get back to do it again.

Yeah WOW is what I have to say. Racing 19 people at Lagua Seca in open wheel cars was intense. Ok, more like a crash fest but fun crashing. The second race was good and I am sure somebody will clue me in as to what track that was. The third and final race for me at Road America was the bomb as I really had never driven that track. Ric was whooping up on us on the track as I think he beat me by 30+ seconds, but his best lap was a 2:10 and min was a 2:11. I get you next time Ric.
We talked to the manager and they are interested in setting us (Fresno SCCA) up with a discount group rate and possibly setting up a cup points system. I am all for it!!:D:D:D
How may of you guys could afford $30 or there about a month to meet there for races??? You know that is the cost of an autocross entry where we get 5-10min on the track verses 30-45 min of simulator race where your car doesn't get broken:p
Nice seeing Justin Tang as he had made the trek back to the correct coast.:)
What a mix of people to as I think the drifters might have out number us autocrosses and road racers.
I am sure this will be a good topic at the next meeting.
When is the next one Tony?

Relax Josh, I've already started working on it. It may be the last Thursday of the month, not sure right now. Remember, Jonathan can get 24 simulator's racing on the same track at the same time.

My thought is to go back over and negotiate the pricing for our group to meet there once a month just to race.

Obviously you must mean some other Steve , cause I ain't no poser!

Went there today to check it out. So here's my take. I was disappointed that they didn't have more American tracks. This is a German Co. so most of the tracks are European and Asian. The guy working there did say they're trying to get more American tracks. Was also disappointed that there were no Australian tracks(especially Bathurst). Also the Zandvoort track was nothing like I remember it(that's before most of you were born). But I'll be darn if they didn't have, as their only English track, Brands Hatch! Both the Club Circuit and the GP Circuit. They were having overheating problems with the three screen machines so I didn't get to try them but the single screens were OK. I got me a nice M3 GT3 car and went for it. It's real easy to beat the computer racers just like in Grand Turismo and the wheel really makes you have to hang on. After two sessions my hands were cramping so I called it quits. Stayed around to watch a race between 17 competitors. Looks like that is way fun, as you guys said it was.

Overall I'd rate it 4 out of 5 only because the food and drinks are really expensive(paid $2.04 for an 8.5 oz. Coke!), but I had a really good time.

Would really like to race with you guys sometime if anyone wants to do this on a weekend.

Lucky you!! Still, $6.49 for 15 min.(9 laps at Brands Hatch)is not bad considering how challenging the game is.

I tried out the simulators on the freebie Friday night and I am going to require A LOT of practice (what did you say Kurt - something about 'soft hands???')
Any word as to whether we can get a group discount either for a monthly meeting night and/or if we flash our SCCA member cards?
