So i was reading though Brandon's post about car classing but i still have some questions. I know id be in at least STS, but are linear coil springs (non oem style) allowed in STS or does that bump me up a class?? maybe i missed this. also how does the drum to disc conversion i did play in to this?? any help i appreciated!
for reference here's my mod list:
cat back exhaust
aftermarket dampers all around, single adjustable
Ground Control sleeve coilovers
camber/caster plates
aftermarket camber bolts
aftermarket rear anti-roll bar & tie bar
rear disc brake conversion
another question.... Are there any good alignment shops in the valley? i have a life time alignment through firestone but they will only work within oem specs.

Can't address your classing question but I know two good alignment shops, both in Fresno. Lewis Frame, Wheel & Brake (ask for Al) and Kurata's Tire Service. You can look in the Yellow pages for both,

I'm not certain, but quite confident that the rear disc conversion isn't legal for ST (formally known as STS). You could follow the book 100%, but locally you shouldn't have a problem with it. I think with the conversion, it could bump you all the way up to SM class :(.
I align mines at Greenway Autobody in town, ask for Sterling.

I use Goodguys Tire center behind the old meryvn's off of Blackstone & Ashlan.... Ask for Anthony or Javier, drop my name and they help you out..

You're definitely in SP with the rear drum to disc conversion.
Also, the RSB and other suspension mods put you at ST.
You can kiss H stock goodbye or your mods, choose one :P

The car is only as good as the guy behind the wheel ;)
If I were you, I'd keep the car how you have it and focus on improving your times. Choose a few other cars that regularly attend and see if you can decrease the gap. Beats throwing away money... I think.
You have a lot of talent that just needs to get its seat time. (To others, he was my student at the school)

i meant corner weights
Go for ST. Put the rear drums back on and enjoy the car in ST. Lots of good guys and competition. And you will be surprised at how fun and quick the car can be on good tires like the Toyo R1R or Bridgestone RE-11.
the bolt pattern is the same as the Miata, thus you can easily get some wheels. Get the RE-11 cause of the better wear then the R1R. Cheaper but almost just as good are the Kumho XS, Dunlop Star spec

Thanks for the words of encouragement Brandon! still my car only puts out about 90hp to the wheels and even less torque. I have been looking into a set of spare rims and tires. Ive heard lots of good things about the re11 but i just dont have that kind of money for tires. i was considering some falken rt615s though

A low budget tire IMO is the Dunlop Z1 *spec. Next in line would be Kumho's XS. The Falkens are just way too behind in technology, but they are better than no grip :).

+1 more for Lewis Frame, I had mine done there several years ago. The tech let me watch everything he was doing, now I know how to do my own work. Tip your mechanic!

seems like the XS have issues with the middle of the tire wearing down faster. and the star spec arent made in 205/50/15 for me :(
