Due to making the wrong tire choice I have FOR SALE:
4 Bridgestone RE-11 tires in 205/50-15. They have been shaved to 4/32nd" and have all of 12 runs on them counting the practice on Friday and Saturday at San Diego they have been heat cycled twice. This is an outstanding tire and it's not because I think that it's the wrong tire to use that's causing this sale.
I paid $640 for the tires, shaving, and shipping. First $400 gets them. I'd be willing to meet anyone half way all the way up to the bay area(which would be Santa Nella on I-5)
Don't be scared off by the fact that they are shaved. Last year I drove all over the state the whole season on one set shaved to 4/32nd". I only replaced them when I flat spotted one late in the year. Bridgestones wear like iron and they're a lot stickier than last years.
THESE TIRES HAVE BEEN SOLD:

Steve,
A bit off topic... How do the RE-11's compare to the RE-01R's?

Are you going the race tire :cough: R1R route :D ? I'm interested on what caused this?

This is why I didn't include that statement when I put it in the BAAutox forum. The tires are fine. It's the size that I'm not happy with. The car lost all its liveliness and I just want to retain that. I did better on the O1r's at San Diego. The car just seems to love those tires as I do too. I'm either going to get a set of 195/50-15 RE-11s or Toyos. I haven't decided yet. The 205/50 is more suited to a Civic or CRX than a Miata. The 205's also rub real bad on the front as they are a big tire and that's why I want the smaller tire. That and the gearing
To answer your question, Brandon, about comparison. I've only run on them twice so I don't have much to go on but the RE-11 feels stickier. The car didn't push with the 01rs but the moment I put the 11's on I developed a push. A little on corner entry but a lot on corner exit. So they've got traction due to the stickier compond. I didn't take temperatures so I don't know which way to go with camber to get rid of the push. I'll see how the new set works and go from there.

A push on your car? Wow! Especially when it's setup for a little on the oversteer side :).

The tires are long gone. I sold them almost immediately after originally posting this add.
To answer your question for the future....Uh, NO
