Well this weekend is the Redline Time Attack at Buttonwillow. I was thinking of heading down there to spectate and see how this momentus event unfolds, as well as taking a few photos while I'm there.

Anyone interested on heading down there to spectate? Maybe setup a caravan.

Hey Kurt,

Are you talking about Saturday or Sunday? I plan to checkout the carts at the fairgrounds Saturday, so maybe Sunday I might head down there. I have never been to Buttonwillow, so how accessible is the track for areas to take pictures? Anything like Sears Point or Laguna Seca? Can you see most of the track from one area?

There a very minimal areas to take photos at :(. Paddock should be just as interesting, with all of the tuner cars out in full force.

I'm thinking of saturday, as I've got family plans for Sunday :(. Qualifying is happening on Saturday, and Sunday is the Time Attack day.

Anyone???

What time are you leaving tomorrow? I might swap and go to the Time Attack Saturday and Go Karts Sunday.

I used mapquest and it is 1hr 45min to the track from my house and gates open at 8:00am for spectators.

Thanks for reminding me about the event and letting me caravan down with you, Kurt. I hope I get to see some of those photos you took and I hope to have mine up shortly. I will post a link to my photos once they are up.;)

There is just something about highly modified cars going WOT down that straight that gave me goosebumps.
